favorite designer /part 2 - Cecilie Manz

If you ask me which lamp I would like to have, I will answer without a second thought : 

The Caravaggio! 

The name is also well given, since the painter was a master of dynamic created with light.

favorite designer /part 1 - Benjamin Hubert

London based Benjamin Hubert is for me one of the most talented young generation designer at the moment. He already worked for big companies like de la espada and moroso, and also created his own line of lamps. I absolutely adore his way of working with materials and starting each project in a new way. Groovy Magnets and Woonbeurs

Yesterday I visited Woonbeurs, an Interior Design Fair in The Netherlands. It was very inspiring day, especially because magazines like vtvonen, 101woonindeeen, Adriane at Home, EigenHuise and Interieur have created their own houses full of interesting ideas. Unfortunately there was hardly any attention put into Children's World. I hope it will change in the future. You can still visit the fair till Sunday the 6th October 2013. 

One of my favorite discoveries from the fair was Groovy magnets. It is a new brand from Belgium: 

" … Lies Verheyen and Pieter Claessen, are the founders of the graphic design agency”Mazout”. Together they design interactive walls (…) They have developed a new wallpaper, better known as' magnetic wallpaper, a nice alternative to the classic magnetic board. It turns any wall into a real "eye catcher". Ideal in combination with various "Groovy Magnets" which can be used to hang personal drawings or notes…."

I like simple ideas which can quickly transform an interior and 

putting a magnetic wall paper is definitely one of them. And this simple magnets are definitely hard to find! 

Hello October & dark toddler bed

I can't believe its already October, but I can definitely feel it , in the cold days we have out here. Monday, straight after Inside Design Amsterdam, we got new delivery of Rafa-kids beds, and it was very busy day to prepare all the pre-orders for our waiting customers. I know I don't had much time for blogging, but I missed it, and will try to get back to my week routine and bring some inspiration to you, more regularly. 

Today I play with dark Rafa-kids toddler bed and some dark colors. It feels good this time of the year, so cosy and comfortable. I really like the contrast of simple modern space and design with a touch of blue or mustard. I don't think my boys will let me paint any wall so dark, but we are definitely having few grey walls at home, also in our boys room. They are having now the dark set F&R in their room, and we are trying to adopt it with a bit of color.

It's a bit quiet here which most of the time means , I'm very busy. 

We are going to show the dark chocolate Rafa-kids beds for the first time to the public 

at Inside Design Amsterdam 2013. 

A design event organized by ELLE DECORATION taking this year 

the whole downtown Amsterdam by storm. 

Come to see us between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th at MMOUSE. 

 On Friday 27th at 16 - 20 there is a special opening organized by MMOUSE 

with drinks and music! Rafa-kids  will be glad to meet you there! 

Zara Mini by April and May

I'm not in a baby mood, but definitely I'm into a great work of April and May 
for a new lookbook of ZARA mini.  

First , some of you might ask : who is  April and May ?  

Two talented Dutch stylists Jantine Vaartjes and Vivian Hoebe are running unique studio April and May . 

If you step by to see their webshop : April and May, you will easy get the feeling of their style.  This talented duo is  focusing on interior design, styling and concepts and is also an author of the April and May blog. New collection of ZARA mini, was styled by this two women and photographed by James Stokes. I find it very interesting collaboration, and really love the result. 

The minimal but warm look of the collection, enriched by using such a simple elements. We will see beautiful  gray tones of fabrics and wool, together with cupboard,  cork, a piece of wire… pure elements , but used in a very creative and conceptual way. It gives simple and somehow also cute look of the collection. 

We'll done ladies! 

Fold-up Paper Animals

Do you know already the Papier City designed by Papierowemiasto? 

I just notice that this Polish brand created new product :  FOLD - UP ANIMALS 

made out of 100% recycled cardboard. 

Set includes 12 sheets of gray cardboard with color print of 20 animals :

 giraffe, zebra, rabbit , bear, fox and much more! 

Each animal fold size is 10cm . 


" Animals are durable and not easy to destroy. " 

I think this is not only fun to make and play ( during the Autumn and Winter days ) 

 but also will be looking great as a decoration in child's room.
