Monday inspiration - Clothes rack for children's rooms

What do you think about using clothes in children's room as decoration ? I can imagine, it is a shame to hide in the closet, this one favourite, beautiful dress of your little girl, that she waited and wanted for so long. Or maybe the dress she was wering on her first birthday ? We would like to keep this memory forever, right ?  For an older child, having clothes on a rack feels a bit like being in a store,  where you can easily reach it, see whats there and play with it. 

I hope that when we buy less, but very consciously, it would be nice to appreciate the well made, and designed pieces and give them a special place in a child's room. On the other hand, we can hide the rest of garments in a closet.  You can create such a beautiful clothes rack, from wooden sticks, for more natural look or use a standart metal adult Clothes rack. There is a plenty of options if you like the idea. Rafa-kids has also designed a beautiful L shelf with a metal rack to hang the favourite garments of your child.

Fashion for boys | part 3 | Green Summer

Fashion brands are launching their new collections for Spring/Summer one after another. I try to see some light in the tunnel and find my favourite ones and also collect the common trends. Botanical trend is not a new one, it is also very popular in the interior deco at the moment. We see a lot of greenery and plants getting into our homes and that’s definitely good for our well being.  GREEN colour is chosen by Panton as the colour trend for 2017. Well, I need to admit, that I do like plants around me but painting a wall or getting a green sofa, it’s something else but who knows ?  Today I’m showing you the new Scotch-Soda  collection for boys. Do you like it ? I selected few of my favourite items, which I would love to get for my older, 10 years old son. It feels like holidays, right ? Let’s keep dreaming about them….

Winter vibe with Scotch-Soda

Are you almost ready for the festive break and celebrations…?  Honestly, I’m not ….That’s why we decided to take a little trip, look for an adventure, nature and hopefully snow!  This Winter’s Look book of Scotch-Soda with the Nomad vibe fits perfectly into my current mood.  Cold winter atmosphere, and kids in clothes full of reach textures and patterns - trademark of this Dutch fashion brand. They already promote new collections and I really don’t understand how the children’s fashion brands can launch their Spring/Summer collections in December/ January…we are in the winter mood, right ? 

so let’s keep warm , go out and enjoy it!

I’m so exited to start a new week with pictures of new ZARA mini Autumn 16 campaign.

I was always a big fan of work of the Dutch stylists Jantine Vaartjes and Vivian Hoebe who are running unique studio April and May . It is not the first time that they work for ZARA - you can find the old post about it here. I think our new BB bench fits the minimal and warm look of the collection so well, enriched by using a simple elements. Photographed by BEELDSTEIL. Petit-Bateau - 120 years

Can you imagine a company which is producing a basic cotton underwear for 120 years? Well, HATS OFF -  here comes French Petit-bateau. Late congratulations to this amazing brand, because in April 2016 they had celebrated their over 100 years in the making of clothes. 

Their production still takes place in Troyes France, the hometown of the company. We have to imagine, that many things changed and evaluated in all this years, an there were up and downs for sure. From an only for children brand, they now serve a truly multigenerational garments for adults, children and babies. Petit-bateau new store concept and identity is taken from bold colours of the brand’s origins – to the pure white of the cotton fabric combined with the midnight blue of the sea. White was put at the heart of all the brand’s communications such as the logo, stores and packaging materials. I absolutely adore their chic aesthetic, using the finest quality cotton to create timeless staples. From the famous yellow raincoat and soft knitwear to classic breton. Petit-bateau. defiantly know how to bring the basic style into so much fun and enjoyment!  

and did you know? “ In 1994, Petit Bateau becomes a fashionable brand thanks to the fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Indeed for a fashion show, he dressed the model Claudia Schiffer with a Petit Bateau T-shirt under a Chanel suit. So a lot of women went to the stores to buy these T-shirts originally created for children.

Emile et Ida I fashion for boys I part 2

Few weeks ago we started new series,  

fashion for boys here: scotch-soda-fashion-for-boys-part-1. 

Today I would like to show you Emile et Ida. Soft and silky materials, jersey fabric and playful prints, we all love it here! This French brand will take your kids into charming casual and simple atmosphere. What I like about it is, that their graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts can be easily worn by both my 5 and 9 years old boys. They are looking modern but you still know it is for kids at different age. The collections goes up to 10. They are definitely a great essentials in kids' fashion.

Scotch-Soda | fashion for boys | part 1

I would like to start a new series at Rafa-kids blog. Yes, a new subject - fashion for boys. 

I’m a mom of two boys and I find it challenging to find a playful and good quality fashion for my kids, without spending a fortune. My frustration was born already a long time ago. Each time I was going shopping I was getting disappointed and bored.  The amount of choices for dressing girls, was most of the time twice bigger than for boys. When my 4 years old son asked me for shoes with a panther print, I was confused. The only models I could find was for girls! and then a question, should I buy him girl’s ones?  Slowly I started to find  children’s fashion brands which I and my boys really like. I thought it would be nice to share it and maybe help other moms, who struggle with the same issue. 

Of course each child is different, and they do like different styles. My older son (9) is obsessed with soft, high quality fabrics, jersey might be one of his favourites at the moment. I call him my luxury boy, since the softer the garment, the more he likes it….Let’s start with one of our favourite brands - Scotch-Soda. The price tag is high, but I do not advice to buy an entire collection for one season, but just few great pieces which can be worn for a long time. Scotch-Soda was first a men’s collection and I still like their proposal for boy’s the most.
