DIY - recycle your plushes

This is the most amazing DIY I saw since a long time!
I desperately need a Diamond Bertoia chair to do it. ;)
All this lovely pictures are coming from jesussauvage blog
and I'm a big fan of her instagram  ( among other 24.000 followers! )

The idea of making a chair out of plushes is coming from Fernando & Humberto Campana , two Brazilian designers . It's adopted by her in a very beautiful and friendly way , and used to make a great chair for her two boys. I think many of us struggle with the plushes in our houses , since there is always a space for one more  ;) This is fantastick idea how we can recycle them.

Happy Friday!

Lille Nord magazine

I have to be honest and say there is not many children orientated e-magazines that I like. Most of them focus on fashion and are not much interested to present some modern ideas to decorate children's room.
The scandinavian Lille Nord magazine is a big exception. It is very inspiring, full with great DIY projects and interesting children's rooms. The bold and minimalist Danish style is so present and speaks to me. I really like the DIY paper masks - you can see all the tutorial inside the magazine here : Lille Nord.

Chloés room is so cosy but with minimalist scandinavian touch ( hay boxes, bobochoses rug on the wall, Japanese balloons) . The credits for this room goes to mimiscircus , so I guess its a room of the daughter of the owner of this very nice children shop. Pity there is no single word about it! I'm a fan of the beautiful we do wood desk, finding its place in the room. Please have a look at all magazine :  Lille Nord

Tent at home for children

Do your children like to hide? My boys love place under the table!
It is still very cold here, so there is no chance to put a tent outside, or to make one in the forest during the weekend… I thought it will be nice to show you, some cosy tents which we can make at home for our kids.
The first tent is made from a stick and a simple pice of fabrics + the matters + some pillows and that's all .
We are ready to play!

DIY furniture - Recession Design

Since a long time I wasn't so excited and inspired by someone's design work. When I discovered the Italian design group Recession Design I was just trapped like Alice in Wonderland.  Extremely talented and provocative design group Recession Design has created a whole line of modern furnishing " DO IT YOURSELF DESIGN ", and provided all the assembly plans free to download online. Morissa Morelli, designed 3 objects for children, and her table is called after her daughter's name Nina (she is originally from The Netherlands and living in Italy). Armando Loreti architect designd a Paltrona Armchair, Antonio Cos Children's table&trolley and much more. Over 30 projects are available to download as a PDF at their website.  I'm really impressed by the collection which you can just do using common utensils and accessories. The quality of the design is superb!
All the furniture were presented at the Salone del Mobile Milano 2010.

Recycled Denim

"…Denim is an incredibly beautiful base material that only gains beauty over time. The fabric is extremely strong while getting softer and gaining character after heavily use over time…"

The fox, the anteater and the elephant are made from recycled denimI found it at Shuka shop in Amsterdam, but its coming from a company called Maisonindigo.  They are based in the Netherlands. Their beautifull animals are hand made by people with disabilities.

The second company is a BluBoxx created by a textile designer Jeannine Oberdieck. Her sustainable new toys are mostly produced from recycled material, also denim. The first prototype is a five-pice set of building blocks which is really looking like fun. I think its a fantastic idea…

Inspired by all of it I made a small blanket for my son from old jeans and my husband T-shirts.
He has only blue , grey and black -  perfect selection! ;-)

Geometric Animals

I really like the idea of making animals from simple shapes like circles and triangles. It can be a great DIY project to do with kids. I found this gift wrapping paper made by a student project on Behance.net - gallery/Bork It is from Thorleifur Gunnar Gislason, student at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.

Kids Teepee Tent

It's so hot here!  I decided It's time to make some teepee for the garden to let my boys to hide and play! Some of the teepees I'm showing you are from Moozlehome. Created by two designers Kate Clarkson and Dennis Harrison. Teepee tents are made in their homes in either Pembrokeshire, West Wales or Amsterdam, Netherlands. I really like their simple look. Here some DIY Kids Teepee instructions - I will make one this week! I promise ;-)
