Kids space at vtwdbeurs 2016
Last Friday we went to look for inspiration at the biggest Design and Interior Fair in The Netherlands called - VT wonen&design Beurs taking place in Amsterdam. We were so exited to discover, that the Dutch magazine vtwonen created space for kids in their pavilion. It was not just one little room…it was large and impressive open space. The main element was a built platform where child can sleep and play and on the other side there was a separate area for working. My favourite element was definitely the built platform with the drawers underneath for all the toys and also a large wardrobe. Open shelves gave chance to expose all little treasures. Just perfect. I really liked the colours combo kept in this era. Grey was contrasted and refreshed with orange, which gave cosy and warm feeling. The working area was dark and calm, with a galaxy theme. Kids’ house was filled with plenty of vintage finds, industrial furniture like chairs or shelves, which made this space look so personal. Such a wonderful atmosphere….
and we spotted Rafa-kids XO game and X stool in black in there!
Unfortunately on the entire fair it was not much more inspiration for children except this pavilion….I will show you more from the fair shortly.
Happy weekend my dear readers.

The Live Loud Girl
Blogging can open the doors for possibilities that you never expect. You can even find a dream job of decorating 7 room house in South Arabia…well, this is really happening to Linda right now from The Live Loud Girl blog , who I’m presenting to you today.
Difficult to imagine that she started blogging only in 2014. This Dutch mom living in exotic Dubai with her family including 2 cute boys is one to follow! She started her blog because she wanted to share her inspiration of home deco, sharing pictures from her own, very bright and open house and this led her to her first interior project…. Well done, don’t you think ? Before I will tell you what I like about her style, let’s give her a voice:
“ The Live Loud Girl signature look is based on mixing it up. Scandinavia meets Manhattan with a touch of my Dutch roots you could call it. Combining old with new, vintage with IKEA making interior styling accessible and affordable, creating an atmosphere with attitude… “
Well , I can only say, I really like the spacious and full of light atmosphere she creates. Also her choices for furniture, light and accessories are unique and often not products you would directly relate with kids, which I always like to see. A fresh air in the kids world.

Out and About
Weekend! Last week we decided that our Friday’s are going to be “ Out and About ” . Each Friday we will go and discover some new places and recharge our batteries and get inspired. Do you like the idea ? Today I would like to show you our first outing. We went to The Hague, since there is a 3 day event called “ Festival Design Kwartier” 27-29 May. Tomorrow you still have chance to see it if you are around. Open doors to designer’s studios, houses , galleries and shops all filled with design.
On our ‘must see’ list was Tas-ka store. Unique design concept store hosting also products for MINI - people.
Tas-ka is run by Jantien Baas and Hester Worst. In the store you will find, their own design prints all over the place. From designed and manufactured in The Netherlands textiles, their bedding, bags, cushions, tea towers. Their print comes on lamps and plenty of beautiful paper goods too. Jantien and Hester also carry a well curated collection of goods from other brands. Exclusively for “ Festival Design Kwartier” we could see this cute mustard yellow exposition wall with accessories for little ones. There is also a bookstore ! As you could see the store has a minimal look with a graphic touch. Atmosphere is built with care for every little element and product. Well done, Tas-ka!

Monday inspiration - Dutch children’s rooms
It seems hardly probable that children’s rooms in a certain country would look very similar to each other. But it surly happens in Holland. There aren’t the same, but there are patterns which keep reappearing and I like to spot them for you today.
What’s so specific about the original Dutch children’s rooms ?
First of all , if you would see a bed made out of raw wood, recycled material or ‘bedstee’ ( bed in a cupboard-old fashioned Dutch way of sleeping) you might be on the right way! Many parents build beds for children themselves. DIY ideas are a second nature in this country. If someone is not that handy - why do not look for an old furniture with character? Searching for not expensive, second hand furniture is definitely a sport in itself for many Dutch. You will also notice that they appreciate earth colours, natural looking materials and accessories with a history. Vintage finds, personal and relaxed atmosphere will emanate from their children’s rooms. Mix and match, that’s their another great strength. And well - colours - it looks like nobody is afraid of them , but maybe that’s a theme for a next post….
Thank you VTwonen magazine for all the pictures and inspiration!

new WHITE at Rafa-kids
Let’s start a new year in white, clean and stylish way.
Do you feel a new energy to organise your space, to clean it and make things work better?
I definitely do.
Please welcome our Rafa-kids furniture in pure white finish. Last year we introduced R toddler bed - limited edition in this colour and it was a big success. Many of our customers asked for it and that’s why we decided to gave it a try! They were so right. The new white collection is absolutely stunning.
F bunk bed with the A teen bed in pure white finish, is a perfect furniture set for a modern space. We designed it for children which share a single room. The younger child ( from 6 years) can enjoy his bunk bed and the older one ( from 8 years) can have the slick A teen bed . These two beds are in adult size and can be used for many years in different configurations.
Let’s welcome this stunning WHITE pieces into our children’s rooms.

Rafa-kids new shelves collection - PART 4 - shelf S
The story of this S shelf started in our own son’s room.
He has Rafa-kids F bunk bed and he loves to read, especially in bed! After finishing his books, he was most of the time, just trowing them away on the floor! Can you believe? There was also no place to put his lamp. So we thought, we really need to do something.
The first prototype shelf was designed for him. We were inspired by the details of K desk which we wanted to use in the new design. Then, we realised, that this beautiful shelf has to be part of Rafa-kids collection, and that actually - we should design more shelves….
Happy weekend! We have a birthday party for 9 years old in planning!
