Personal treasures - Couleur Locale store

Do you remember my blog post about Bohemian vibe in children’s rooms?  One of the characteristic elements of this style, is to decorate it with unique, one of a kind, objects. Unfortunately not all of us can travel to find them in different parts of the globe and take them back home…but there are people which would love to do it for us!  Couleur Locale store concept is based on this nomad need of traveling and searching products which are one of a kind pieces. Don’t you like that? Each stool, lamp or even little bowl and basket tells a story…..and this can be found in Marocco, Kenia, Senegal …you can read more about it here.

HM kids home - Animal Encounter

H&M Home collection offers for the upcoming season a lot of botanical prints, earth tones and reach textures. Kids’ deco line is also inspired by this trendy look. Green is such a great colour to use in children’s rooms, remember my post about it here : inspiration-green-wall ? It’s calm, cosy and matches so well with natural materials like wood, cork and bamboo.  Of course we can’t forget the plants! 

My favourite product from H&M new collection for children is the simple bedding set with animals and the storage basket with animals print. H&M seems to understand, that the storage is an important issue in children’s rooms, and we can find much more simple options to choose from. I really like this fresh atmosphere created on these pictures.  

Can’t wait for Spring to come!

Is the STUVA storage system for kids the most popular solution in children rooms? 

I see it so often, that I started to wonder why would it be so popular, putting the low price aside. 

“Storage that sees eye to eye with kids”  says IKEA on their website. Telling us that the secret of STUVA storage is that it’s at the right height for kids. They find it easier to get dressed and take their toys. The system gives also a lot of options to play with and make an individual combinations. You can choose between open or closed storage, to hide or display your things, and also interior fittings, like shelves or clothes rails you want. I selected only the white examples, since I like them the most. It’s simple and kind of neutral looking storage system which gives a good basic in children’s room.

plywood storage system for kids

You probably know I’m a big fun of plywood. When I saw this adjustable wall storage system from Kerf Design I really liked it. This system is build on a simple wall panel with holes, and you can easy add to it new elements. It can be a simple shelf, or a bookshelf even desk can be added into the wall. The company Kerf Design is located in Seattle and they do a lot of custom made project. You can have a look at their Facebook page for more inspiration. 

The other projects (bellow) )  are from Baukind which have designed many kindergarten/day cares in Germany. You can see how easy it is accully to work with plywood and create simple storage elements and systems for children. 

multifunctional baskets

Baskets are super useful for almost anything you like. 

Use them for laundry, toys, clothes, blankets or magazines. Some of them you can use even as a beach bag for the Summer to come .There is plenty of choice and they are made from different materials - paper, hand-knitted rope, rattan , metal etc.  Ferm Living wire basket can be use as a table. You just need a top to put on.
