cardboard furniture for kids

Recycled cardboard chair for kids

We know that kids grow so fast,
so maybe a small KENNO cardboard chair is a nice option for our toddler if we do not want to invest a lot in small size furniture . When a child outgrows it, you can just discard it. The sturdy yet lightweight material can be re-cycled as paper and water-based adhesives are used to create its sandwich construction.

All shown furniture are coming from Järvi & Ruoho Helsinki based design office founded in 2003.

Yellow in boy's room

Yellow for boy's room
Collage above via : minordetales with Rafa-kids F bunk bed.

What do you think about yellow for children's room ? I really like the collage from minordetales , because it has a bit of gray tones which calm down this color a bit. The Eero Aarnio Ball Chair for kids looks so cool and plenty playful accessories for a little boy, make this room so good.

This week I came across the Dutch magazine " Wonen met kinderen" , with this very interesting toddler's room also with yellow accessories.  Photos are made by Bart Brussee and styling Esther Loonstijn. It looks very fresh and cosy at the same time. I like the mix of simple white furniture ( bed , desk, wardrobe) , and then together with bedside cabinet made out of old wood and other accessories in natural colors. The yellow has also not only one tone, but match with mustard and beige.  It's been a while since I have seen something so inspiring!

I wish you a great Friday!

I think the pink for girls and blue for boys is over ;-)
It's really time to look differently and try to use other colors. The most easy way to create unisex room will be use the natural tones and materials, like I am showing you on the pictures….but, of course kids love colors so they might not be so happy with that 'boring' choice. The other nice option will be to create black and white room, great for boy and a girl, and then a splash of bold, basic colors, which give the personal touch to it. What will be your favorite color for a unisex room for two kids ? I'm curious.

Children room in Finland

Today I got the book " Finland Children's Rooms " from Paumes, and I'm totally blown away ;) The finish simplicity and love for design is so close to my heart. Many people say the finish interiors are so somber and with not much color, well this book shows just how great the finish can use color in kids room interiors!  This house belong to Marjut and Jussi Rahkola, and their 6 kids - Juhana, Anton Olivier, Aava, Aarni and Kuura. The yellow bed is just adorable. The whole house is so simply organized with many design classic furniture and courage to use strong colors.

In Netherlands you can get this book here : vanmarieke
