storage for kids’ room from AM-PM

Finding a good storage for a child’s room is not that easy.
In our house the toys of my boys are flying around constantly, and sometimes I really don’t know what I can do more about it.  The industrial trend which you can see here and there in kids’ deco, is acutely something I really like. The French company AM-PM is absolutely fantastic in kids’ room accessories for me. All the boxes and storage elements which you can play with, are made out of metal (probably not suitable for smaller kids). This new collection is really well done and what a great choice of colours, don’t you think ?

Bibelotte - travel collection

Bibelotte travel collection
bedding from Bibelotte travel collection

Bibelotte is a little Dutch brand, started by Jacoline de Meent in 2006. At the beginning it was just a shop which out grown into a brand with unique, hand made home accessories. Since they use a lot of different fabric with patterns, mostly very cheerful, it was not really my kind of thing .

But! There is a change!  The new  “ travel collection ” is very elegant and beautifully styled with natural colours of plywood. Build up on a basis of light blue, petrol blue linen with sand and ocher accents.  Bibelotte is know for her very nice details, bedding which are made with zips in contrasting colours and use of a very good quality textile. Wall stickers are part of the new collection. Definitely “do not enter” is my favourite.

Do you know Djeco toys, craft kits, lamps, stacking blocks, kitchens and puzzles already?
Djeco is a French toy manufacturer from Paris specialising mainly in toys for young children. The company was founded in 1954 by the mother of the current owner, Frederick Michel Dales.  He took over the company in 1990 and made it a market leader. What I like about the company, is that they are working with designers/illustrators and some of their products are very graphic and playful.

What is new in Djeco ?
Few days ago I have discovered a new website LITTLE BIG ROOM dedicated to children’s room.  They are taking us into a ‘village’ with many houses and then we can ‘look’ inside and see differently styled rooms. All of them are decorated with products from Djeco collection, and are available by retailers. I found it a very interesting concept and maybe the style of the rooms in not exactly my taste, but I’m really impressed by the work they did.

petite friture at maison&object

 Petite Friture at maison&object 2014

Today I have for you something fresh and new : interesting shapes , textures and materials.
was created in 2009 and it’s an design editor which promote young talents, and develop with them objects, lighting and small furniture. This exhibition was presented at the last maison&object and I was absolutely imprest by all the materials and shapes put together. The constance Guisset sofa NUBILO, was so soft and comfortable with nice fabric and colours. The BUBBLE hangers, are design by Quentin Vaulot and Goliath Dyevres , and it came from a research on rondom shapes made out of mouth blow glass. The soft lighting and all the wire furniture are also my favourite.

feathers & arrows

pillows from mokkasin store
mini collection from oyoy

Few months ago I went to Zara Home store in Rotterdam and saw a new collection for kids with the indians, arrows, wigwams, mountains and feather patterns. Then the new collection of Danish Ferm Living AW2014 appeared with exact the same subject. I wasn’t expected it accully will spread around the kids’ rooms so widely, and I would come across it regularly here and there. At the maison&object I had a chance to discover very cute little brand from Germany called pleased to meet’. The stand was very cosy and full of many little accessories. The company is run by Daniela Könn and Marcel Hornung, a german couple that met in New York while working at different design agencies. Pleased to meet offers mainly paper goods but also little pillows and blankets. I really like the colour pallet of their collection, not too sweet but very playful. The last picture is coming from Australian brand adairs which has very cheerful and colourful collection for kids’ bedroom.
