Rafa-kids packing and sending

Last week was really special for us. We send our first pre-order beds. Rafa-kids yellow tape is making the simple boxes so nice ! We really like it. The F bunk bed is now IN STOCK. The R toddler has few elements which have to be remade by the factory, so we still keep waiting for it. Fingers crossed to get them this week!

Preparing for the Inside Design Amsterdam

Only 2 weeks left for the INSIDE DESIGN Amsterdam, where we will present for the first time our beds. It is a new challenge. Happily we don't have to fight with my husband about what we find interesting and good. We both want a dreamy and relaxed place with a graphic touch.
So keep watching, what kind of surprises we are preparing for you ;-) I will keep you posted…..

moodboard - feeling blue

"…Blue has long possessed a calming effect on the mind. "
Quietness, clarity and serenity…that's what  I need now.

Blue is also giving me felling of distance and freedom.
Mountain Blurbird was an inspiration for a colors and atmosphere in a teen's room:
calm, concentrate and free spirit in the same time.

Anne Masson and Eric Chevalier

Probably some of you already know the work of Anne Masson and Eric Chevalier from Belgium.
They have collaborated an experiment with textile since 2006. I really like they fresh way of looking at normal object like - wall hanger or swing.  It's so clever and original.

Every day a new letter here ;-)

Thank you for the inspiration :

Welcome September with the "Raw Color"

Every beginning of the month I'm choosing an inspiring brand which treat colors in a very special way.
I can't miss in this selection the work of  " Raw Color " .
Daniera ter Haar & Christoph Brach work on self initiated and commissioned projects in their Eindhoven based studio. I like mostly their visual research about vegetables and their powerful color. Mixing the fields of graphic design and photography, research and experiments makes their strong visual language.

Contemplative toys for adults

Ingrid Hulskamp  describes herself as a ‘design poet’ .
« My aim is to enchant people with the use of poetic, playful and sophisticated design. »

« I have developed a series of contemplative toys for adults. The luxurious objects, made from hand-blown glass, remind us of the candid fun we had as a child, when we were able to fully get caught up in the moment.(…) I have created three different sensory experiences: a tactile experience using hand-blown glass, wood, brass plated gold and textiles; a visual experience using coloured pigments that transform when you start playing with the object; a sonic experience through the movement of water and glass balls. "

Kleinlab - Daycare

I'm looking for some calm and quiet mood this weekend after hectic last days at work….
The Kleinlab is just perfect.

Susanne Huis and Marine Stam started Kleinelab only six months ago. It is a nursery and after-school care center in the Amsterdam-Noord. Among the industrial warehouses and factories, there is this very special place. Susanne, an art teacher and Mariane an architectural planner are the secret behind this high quality space created for their pupils. The women try to give children a lot of responsibility and let them explore and discover as much as possible by themselves. Among many creative activities, cooking and organic food, the atmosphere is difficult to forget.
