I’m always glad to find one of a kind interior projects which fulfill specific needs of people. This time we have a look into a world of Anne and Hubert which with the arrival of their second child, Basile, needed to rethink the space of their children's rooms. Originally, the room of their first boy, Martin, was small and under a low ceiling. They asked creators of the site Hellocoton for help. There are a few words about the project :
“ We were inspired by the apartments of Le Corbusier by integrating a large sliding door of 1m90 in length between the two rooms. Thus, children have two separate bedrooms but can also enjoy a large space to play together. When the door is open, there is a great perspective between the two rooms. (…) The two rooms were entirely painted white. To warm it up, we imagined light wood furniture punctuating the spaces and bringing large storage areas for all the toys and clothes of the two boys. The heart of the project lies in this large piece of furniture which follows the slope of the roof. It truly emphasizes the volumes and space in these two new rooms. “
I hope you like this project as much as I do. I adore the feeling of openness and light going through boys rooms. Selection of natural materials and colors is also so serene and calming. Definitely a project to remember if you plan a custom made renovation.
