Simplicity in nature - Natasha Newton

Calm winter landscapes.  Beauty of nature objects. So quiet so simple.
I miss that feeling in my live now.

The Blackbird Sings is the work of Natasha Newton. She is a  full-time artist and illustrator, driving between the  county of Suffolk in England and Paris. Hope you like it.

Hand made ceramics - Bailey Doesn’t Bark

Did I ever told you that I finished art high school with a ceramic profile? Yes, 5 years of making my hands dirty, with a lot of joy though. Some time I regret that I didn't let this part of me grow more - but thats a long story. Today just some beautiful hand made ceramics from Bailey Doesn’t Bark - New York - which trigered some memories.

Dutch Design- wood & wool stool

I saw the work of Ingrid Jansen on the kickcanandconkers and (how nice!) her work was put together with my photos on the "pink collection". I went to woodwoolstool blog and discoverd this sunny, full of light and creativity world. Ingrid Jansen made her very first stool from a plank that she once found on the beach during a holiday in Greece. "I thought that first stool looked a little plain and unfinished, so I decided to crochet a cover for it.(…)After making that first stool I received so many nice reactions and requests, that I quickly started making more." and she didn't stop since! Ingrid is making also many other great designs from wool and wood. Beside that you should look at her  photos where I see some mix of beautiful simplicity connected with colors from her designs.

Artist - Aleksandra Gaca - architextile

Architextile is the collection of three dimensional weave structures by textile designer Aleksandra Gaca. A Polish artist who studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She graduated in 1997 with a collection of interior fabrics. For this collection she received the 1st prize Forbo Project Tapijt Grant. Various grants from the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture helped her to develop her research in the amazing experimental textile designs. She lives and works as an independent designer in Delft. Last week I was happy to see her new product : the beautiful puffs made for Belgian casalis.

Oeuf be good

Oeuf is one of the most amazing companies in the children product world.  They are making not only modern and elegant furniture but also clothing and accessories. When I look at a good design product for children I always look if they are also safe. When I analyze the bunk bed I'm not sure if I would let my child sleep there. For me the upper bed doesn't have a good hight to protect the child from falling. Maybe when child is sleeping it is ok, but what if it is sitting? Would you feel comfortable with it? The down bed also doesn't have any protection on the sides but I discovered that you can order it separately.

Oeuf was created in 2002 by French-American designers Sophie Demenge and Michael Ryan after the birth of their first baby. All products are designed in New York and clothing collection and accessories are handmade in Bolivia by a Fair Trade women's initiative. Every season they are bringing a new surprise to their customers. I really love the alpaca soft and warm clothing for the small ones.

Have a nice and warm weekend.

Cotton and Milk

Do you recognize the same gray wall on the first pictures and the same wall inside the apartment? It is a house of Justine, Cotton and Milk's English founder and her husband, French photographer Vincent. The creative duo live now in Brussels with their son Oscar, now 5 years old. I really love the colors of gray, mustard and green in Justine winter collection and that you can see the colors back in her beautifull and stylish house. All found in a new Milk decoration - magazine. More to come! photos via : cottonandmilk
