Monday Blues
Can you imagine that all the children's rooms and pictures I selected below are from different brands, countries and created by different people? They look so incredibly familiar, right? That’s what we call a trend. I can definitely see these contemporary Grey-Blue hues all around children's rooms at the moment. Baby Blue color is also very popular and I talked a bit about it here. I personally really like the combination of blue tones with natural wood elements, which gives this very modern color combination a nice cozy feeling. As you can see all the rooms are decorated with very similar color pallet, without any contrast or accents, which create a sophisticated, restful environment for children.
The last weeks I took a small break from blogging, but I really miss it and would like to come back to my old rhythm and sharing with you much more inspiration. I will try to do my best.
I wish you a good new week.

Contemporary toddler bedroom
It was a nice surprise to come across this modern room and spot our Rafa-kids XL shelf in it. Each time I see it in people homes I feel excited and inspired by the creativity and the personal touch. There are so many ways to use XL shelf around children’s room. This toddler bedroom belongs to a little boy called Thomas and was created by Terina Lyell from Oheightohnine. His parents asked an interior designer for a transformation of his room into a 'big boy' space. I like the contemporary look of the room with not so many elements. Sleeping corner with a toddler bed, a large shelf for books and toys, sitting corner and plenty of space to play. The color pallet is very calm with the dominant furniture in natural wood and white and a splash of dark blue here and there. If you would like to see how the room was looking before and read more about the project, you can step by Terina's blog here.
I wish you a nice new week!

Let’s dream about the sea
We enjoyed a wonderful sunny weekend in Rotterdam and almost decided to drive to the sea, as it is only 30 minutes away by car. Instead we reached the city and got this year's first ice cream outside. The sunny weather get me into a holiday vibe, and that’s why I came into the idea for this post.
Let’s dream about the sea.
It is such a timeless theme, which you can always use in a children’s room. It brings a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I like to see it with soft blue colours to cheer up our mood and hopefully bring good memories. How we can decorate with the sea theme? There is plenty of choice on the market, as brands Ferm Living and Bloomingville are this season offering many accessories dedicated to the sea theme. A wallpaper with boats pattern, pillows, plaids and lovely sea soft animals, to add to child’s bed. You can find a lovely wall stickers, posters, clocks and little accessories, just look around. I will advice to stay close to different tones of blue and grey and contrast them with navy blue or red, mustard colours. Are you ready for summer to come ? I'm so much look forward to it!
Thank you for inspiration.

Monday inspiration - Clothes rack for children's rooms
What do you think about using clothes in children's room as decoration ? I can imagine, it is a shame to hide in the closet, this one favourite, beautiful dress of your little girl, that she waited and wanted for so long. Or maybe the dress she was wering on her first birthday ? We would like to keep this memory forever, right ? For an older child, having clothes on a rack feels a bit like being in a store, where you can easily reach it, see whats there and play with it.
I hope that when we buy less, but very consciously, it would be nice to appreciate the well made, and designed pieces and give them a special place in a child's room. On the other hand, we can hide the rest of garments in a closet. You can create such a beautiful clothes rack, from wooden sticks, for more natural look or use a standart metal adult Clothes rack. There is a plenty of options if you like the idea. Rafa-kids has also designed a beautiful L shelf with a metal rack to hang the favourite garments of your child.
Wishing you a wonderful new week!
Thank you for inspiration
