Remember, that some time ago I asked you what you would like to see more on my blog ? here in this post. Some of you suggested, that it would be interesting to know what inspires me. Well, one of the answers will be - other creative people. Working together duo Scheltens-Abbenes will be one of the top of my list. I just came across their house at the new ELLE Decoration NL and need to show it to you. It is 400m2 space, where this creative Dutch duo work and run a family life with their 2 children. Living and working with your partner, is exactly our life too, so I feel even more inspired.  Maurice is a photographer and Liesbeth is an artists.

“ … Rather than present an object in its original state, they arrange and meticulously photograph their subjects, which eventually take on the form of a new object all together. The innovative couple can be seen as the forerunners of the emerging still life trend and its presence in the fashion realm…”

Their talent is highly appreciated by famous fashion houses, such as Valentino, Hermes, COS, Chanel, Louis Vuitton…..and many more! also magazines, such as Modern Design Review, Fantastic Man, The Gentlewoman or New York Times Magazine are anxious to collaborate with them. If you would like to know more about them, just step by Coffeeklatch for an interesting interview. What I like about their house, is the relaxed and cosy atmosphere, which is a bit opposite of the perfect and conceptual work they make for their clients. I wish one day, we could own such a space, when we could hold under one roof our creative and family life in such a great way.

Today instead of our usual post “Monday inspiration for children rooms”
I would like to show you one of my favourite stylist
If you are interested in the latest trends in kids deco , Aurore Sfez is the one you would like to follow. Her styling work is mostly dedicated to a French magazine Doolittle for whom she is preparing series of pictures. I have a feeling she is creating kind of 3d mood boards, with colours/textures and of course furniture and products for children. That’s why her work can look so different, depending of the season and the latest trend. I’m showing you today her winter atmosphere and the other one with sunny days. I like both of them a lot and thought this will give you a good impression of her style.
You can find Aurore Sfez on Instagram or Facebook, where I found all the pictures.

favorite stylist part 5 - Kim van Rossenberg

Kim van Rossenberg styling for vtwonen
stylist Kim van Rossenberg for vtwonen

It is finally Friday and I can relax and do something I really like….look for inspirations for my blog.

You asked me where I take my inspiration from. There are many different ways I get inspired, so let’s start with the first one. Favourite stylists, yes, I follow them on INSTAGRAM, Pinterest and I look for their latest work in magazines and books. Today I would like to show you work of Kim van Rossenberg, who I came across in the Dutch VTwonen magazine. She really likes to work with natural materials and colours, and is a big fun of DIY. What always catches my eye and what I like the most about her style, is that she tries to bring some new ideas and show products in a fresh way. Look at the ladder , which she used in a children room. What a great way to divide a room in a transparent way, child can climb on it, but also hang favourite toys and garment. And do you like the big wardrobe painted half dark and half white, exactly the same as the wall? Such a brilliant idea, to soft the look of such a dominant furniture in a room.  It doesn’t take so much attention anymore and look just so nicely as a part of the child’s room.
Looking at other stylist’s work, doesn’t mean I wan’t to do exactly the same thing of course, but it gives me sort of fresh wind and inspires me to also try my own ideas and to experiment.
Thank you Kim for your great inspiration! Kim van Rossenberg on Instagram

Welcome our new WHITE toddler bed which is coming soon as LIMITED EDITION

A week ago we had a pleasure to welcome in our Rafa-kids’ studio the talented Paulina Arcklin, who made these amazing styling/photos for Moshi Moshi kids company from Spain. It was such a wonderful day spent together : working , laughing and creating many inspiring rooms for our little ones…
The first room I would like to show you, is this  WHITE , soft and delicate room with R toddler bed in plain white. There was so many customers asking for it, that we could not say no any more….They were right!  The bed is absolutely fresh and beautiful. We can’t take our eyes from it.

If you read my previous post about the hanging chairs…well I got one for my birthday! only one problem is, that now my boys occupy it at home. When my 4 years old son saw this pictures , he was asking me - where is this room mom ? I want to have this room!
well - that’s the biggest compliment we could get.

you are my sunshine

I’m back!
It was a long break, wan’t it?  Did you miss my posts a bit?
Well I’m ready to get back to you with new inspirations, ideas and interesting content.

Let’s start our new week with a splash of joy, happiness and energy of yellow colour.
It’s not a big secret that Rafa-kids likes yellow a lot and tries to add it to a children’s rooms here and there. A bit of yellow will brighten your child’s room very quick. What about a little yellow pillow, bedding set or this wonderful “you are my sunshine” text on the wall ?  The days are longer and warmer now, and I  always feel like changing things around me and add a bit of colour into our monochromatic house. Would you dare to?
I wish you a wonderful new week ahead!

Great tips how to decorate with black&yellow , please have a look here.

ideas how to decorate child room - styling Paulina Arcklin/photo Rafa-kids

We are so exited to work with stylist/photographer Paulina Arcklin and prepare this inspiring child’s room with Rafa-kids’ furniture. We thought it’s good to go out of our comfort zone and imagine a room of a child with accessories not particularly dedicated to children’s deco.

We are definitely inspired by blue colours and textures this season. Never have enough of denim/jeans and linen bedding in tones of grey and blue. We like industrial, raw touch in the room and XXL Lego boxes are a perfect pieces for storing all treasures. Did you know, that you can get a couple of car tyres in your local garage for free? at least we did. Paulina had an idea to use them to expose soft toys on the wall or on the floor, and they give such a character to this space. At the end the Rafa-kids R toddler bed with wheels as a part of this cool room.
We hope you like it as much as we do!

Special thanks to Paulina Arcklin for this inspiring day
and knuffelsalacarte store for bringing us plushies for the photo shoot.

favourite stylist /part 4 Jessica Hanson

Jessica Hanson stylist working for an Australian InsideOut magazine

It’s finally March! I have already spotted first flowers getting out of the ground, so I can officially say, the Spring is on it’s way! I’m definitely more into colours and a fresh bright start…and to be outside, not in front of my monitor. Maybe that’s why I wasn’t here a lot last days.

Jessica Hanson is a stylist working for an Australian InsideOut magazine. I follow her on Instagram, and it’s always so nice to see the sneak picks from every issue of the mag. My favorite are her styling made for kids’ products. I find them very fresh and modern. She always plays with graphic patterns and I really like this part of her style.
