Lloyd Industrials Rotterdam

Lloyd Industrials Rotterdam industrial original lamps
Lloyd Industrials Rotterdam industrial original lamps

Last week we bought two amazing lamps for our house. Yes, I am very proud of our new treasures… For the last four years I had to look at the hanging light bulb above my working space and in our library … but, you know, after having second child we had a bit different priorities. Now we are slowly getting back on track, fixing small things in the house that we never had time for before. It makes me very happy….

Coming back to these amazing industrial lamps. We got them from Lloyd Industrials, a starting business from our neighbourhood.  We both have our studio in the Hofbogen Rotterdam. All the lamps are coming from a factory in France and are brought back into their glory by hand. All the hard work is made with respect for details and high quality of the original, industrial design. Co-founder RenĂ© has such a pasion and enthusiasm for his work, that taking these lamps to our house was definitely made with no doubts.

Do you like paper lamps?
White simple balls, big and small put together always remind me of Chinese paper lanterns.
This beautiful lamps in different shapes are coming from Parisaumoisdaout and are designed by Pascale Daniel. The lamps are not made out of paper but soft cotton sails, hand made in Bangladesh. The cotton is printed in manual screen printing or pad printing (print block) and then embroided with traditional techniques. This gives them a good quality and authentic touch.

Two years ago I showed on my blog work of STUDIO WM, remember ? :
STUDIO WM is based in Rotterdam  and they are on my “ follow “ list since then. Even if they developed a number of new products the black porcelain lamp is my favourite. This amazing loft apartment is design by studio karhard® with Kathrin Klock and photographed by Stefan Wolf Lucks.... and it’s not only about the lamp…but all the design pieces set together in this amazing space. I have to tell you, that I have a house envy and I’m looking for a new home for our family…it will take months, but I’m so much ready for a change.

studiosnowpuppe & tas-ka

When small independent design brands decide to do something together, I'm getting exited.
Dutch brand studiosnowpuppe, which you probably already know from their beautiful paper lamps and tas-ka , graphic and textile designer are both based in The Hague. This creative studios collaborated , and the story is very simple. Tas-ka designed a new wallpaper, posters and stationery, and studiosnowpuppe, used it , to make new lamps. Something fresh for studiosnowpuppe design, since their lamps had only solid colors. I personally really like the dark one, with the strong graphic touch. Tas-ka offers the paper poster separately too , so you can just frame it! They also just launched their new , refreshed website.

wooden lamp by llot llov

Today more inspiration from M&O fair:  Wooden lamp EARL from llot llov and a stand of enostudio. The lamp EARL is made from twenty wooden pearls and you can in a easy way change the height and orientation of light. Hand made out of beautiful wood. I like the Enstudio design for the simple and funny look of the products.
I'm very busy out here and miss a lot blogging ....

Pulp Lamp -Enrique Romero de la Llana

Soft and raw at the same time. I really like the texture and colors of this lamps.
It is made solely of paper paste from recycled newspapers. They are not standard models, each new creation will have a new shape, color and texture. All the shapes are made with inflatable molds, which makes it possible to deform them and make each one unique. Design made by Enrique Romero de la Llana, beautiful photo's Ana Cuba

StudioWM at Inside Design Amsterdam

I had a chance to see the beautiful lamps from Studio WM. and to meet the designer Wendy Legro. It's such a great experience - instead of only adoring beautiful picture to actually talk to someone who is creating such a special objects! Wendy and her partner Maarten Colligon are the talented duo behind Studio WM. They started working together after graduation at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2009, and are based with their studio in Rotterdam. I cross my fingers for a big success of their amazing work.
