It’s only one month left for the special Christmas time. 

Are you feeling exited ? I’m totally not in the spirit yet, but I notice the online children’s stores are in the mood already to help us to find the perfect gifts for our loved ones. One of my favourite stores: Les Enfants du Design,  just lunched their Christmas guide with stylish and beautiful products. Well curated and inspiring children toys and accessories for our home deco. Monday inspiration - gold ochre in children’s room

I think you have already noticed that my blog is taken by the Autumn colours and atmosphere. 

Gold, mustard, gold ochre…

that’s the new tones suggested to be added to our wardrobe and home. Do you like this trend ? I’m still not sure if the golden ochre will become one of my favourite colours. From one side it is very calm and cosy colour but on the other side I think it always needs some company. It is going very well with different tones of pastels, like pink which gives it more life and with a touch of grey and blues becomes very sophisticated. I really like this children room created by Ensuus and the way she combined the gold ochre wall paint with kids accessories. Playful but at the same time not so childish any more, and a pleasure to look at. Would you be there to choose the mustard bedding for this winter season? Or just a warm wool blanket or sweeter would be sufficient ?

Let’s cuddle....

After very difficult weekend and all the happenings in Paris last Friday, I though I will bring a bit of light and softness into my today post…. 

Inspired by cheerful and sunny orange colour I combined it with sober tones of grey, patterns of birds wallpaper and a graphics touch. Grey is my favourite colour and I talked about decorating with grey here : children room’s with grey. 

Instead of painting the entire wall in grey I decided to make a small head board next to the bed to make it more cosy. Delicate pattern of birds on the wallpaper brings the dreamy atmosphere in this room. I got it from Chispum  and you need to believe me, that putting a wallpaper was never so easy. It’s like a big sticker with glue and you can just put it on and easily take it off, when you are ready for something new. 

And then I wanted to add a lot off soft accessories into this Autumn toddler’s room. Blankets, pillows and soft toys, we never can have enough of them. Blablakids soft toy Cat and Unicorn are designed by Florence Wetterwald. They have such a poetic, simple and vibrant look and are knitted by Peruvian artisans. Everything is made from natural fibres of exceptional quality and making the line irresistibly soft and cuddly. I feel like to cuddly them myself. I wish I can cherish every day, what I have and give my kids a lot of extra kisses and cuddles…..

I hope you are enjoying the November’s autumn days and this beautiful season rich in colours…

At the same time it’s getting darker and colder. We stay more inside and keep our space more cosy and comfortable. Every year Rafa-kids is adding to their very popular wool blankets collection something new. This season I decided to choose refreshing  Owl blanket in orange which can lift up your mood. It makes me smile and I really love the simple graphic design made by Terese Bast.  I’m sure that this beautiful orange blanket can bring sunny atmosphere into child’s room this winter, so it will be easier for us to enjoy the darker months. The Owl blanket is different on both sides and easy to put around you and your child.

Rafa-kids & Chispum stickers

Rafa-kids is not afraid of colours!

I know that our kids love colour a lot, so that’s why we created this fresh and stylish room with a splash of red and yellow.….but first, I would like to tell you how it all started. 

One of the greatest part of attending a trade show for a company is the opportunity to meet other creative colleagues. When Rafa-kids took part in Maison&Object in September, one of the new brands to us was Chispum from Spain. They offer playful stickers for home. We like to collaborate and invite new products into Rafa-kids world! Monday inspiration - books in children's room

Let’s get back to our tradition of inspiring Mondays! 

I miss these series a lot and I’m so glad to start it again. 

Today I would like to talk about having a special place for books in the children’s rooms. Many of Rafa-kids’ customers, ask us, when we will design a book shelf ? Well, I’m not sure if we will ever do some….one of my favourite solution is to make built-in bookshelves in a room. Since we need only few planks to store books, why not to make them custom? I care more for creating a cosy, comfortable corner with books than designing a new piece of furniture. So lets try to find, the perfect little corner, where a child can hide and has few favourite books within arm's reach…..Here are interesting spots that other parents have created to encourage their little one's love of reading.
