knit animals BLA BLA

Do you know already Bla bla kids ? 

I was looking at this brand a bit skeptical for a while, because it's to cute for my own taste…but then, the other day, I look carefully at my 3 years old son favorite knitted animal,  and I realize that Bla Bla dolls are probably loved by kids a lot ;-) They have this traditional look, cosy and frendly. My little boy has this animal ( on the picture above without any brand name ) since he was born and he will not fall a sleep without it. 

Bla Bla was created in 2001 by Susan Pritchett and Florence Wetterwald. During they visit in Peru, they came across entire villages of expert knitters who had been keeping the tradition alive for generation…and the idea to start own company was born. 

I'm thinking of getting new knitted animal  for my son…but then, which one ????

 Cat ? Monkey ? Panda….it's not easy.

I don't know about you, but when I look at some products of  Note Design Studio - I think they are so playful and childish. Colors, shapes, materials and expressions, just perfect for kids to play. I don't think this is what the designers think off ;) but at least I can easy imagine this furniture in children's room. My personal favorite is the red open wardrobe, made out of metal, with the crossing legs . Note Design Studio says that for this collection they were inspired by camping and field trip and storage boxes and shelves based on cages for trapping specimines.

They are stockholm-based design studio founded in 2008. They work within the fields of architecture, interiors, products, graphic design and design strategy, look for more : notedesignstudio

AM.PM. for children deco

Today I would like to show you colorful children collection from AM.PM . 
If you are a reader of Milkmagazine, you probably recognize this brand which is a frequent guest out there ;-) It was a new brand to me till yesterday, when I finally got some time to go through their collection. Do you like this dark blue / indigo bedding set ? I do a lot! Little starts all over ? What is the other perfect pattern for a bedding set for kids than stars? maybe clouds? 

I also really like the idea of this TWO beds : the metal frame bed, with a second low one on wheels, for a guest sleep overs. Laredoute is a big company, with stores all over the world and AM.PM. is a small part of it, with it's own children's department and collection. They have furniture and accessories for children's room deco…look for this Little Prince bedding set!

The year just started and there is many new things going around the web world. 

Brands are showing their new catalogues for Spring/Summer 2014 and new color trends appear already… a bit overwhelming for me, so I decided to start the year with my small personal selection.

After two nice weeks at home with my boys, I need some time to get into the new rhythm, but I'm….

planing, dreaming and looking for the new to come! 

Rafa-kids is having a small clean up at our store, for the last items in our collection.  Now the junior bedding sets :  PAPER DOLL, CAR CARDS and beautiful black&white VISIONTEST, ( junior and adult) are discounted, and we wan't get more once the last one is sold out. 

This graphic iconic BIG calendar on the picture is designed by Massimo Vignelli in 1966, 

for American company Stending. 

You can get it in the Nederland here : kleuroptafel It's a real candy for the eye ;-) 

Rafa-kids Year 2013 - Thank you!

The year 2013 is going to end soon.  

Do you want to look back with us and see how busy Rafa-kids was?

In January 2013 we got keys to our Rafa-kids studio. We did not even dream to open own studio/showroom being just a starting company not even a year on the market! We took the challenge though and fell in love with the space from the beginning. It needed some work and took 3 winter months to just make it clean and simple...

In March we launched our third product - A teen bed which is a perfect combination for the F bunk bed. Since then we have a new set F&A for two older kids.  We also extended our Rafa-kids collection with 2 new colors - white wash and dark chocolate and add mattresses to all our beds. Many parents asked us for it and we decided we would like to make life easer for them. 

Spring came with all new beds and colors delivered to our studio. 

Maybe you remember my blog post from March ? Picture-this-concept-by-Paulina-Arcklin? 

In May we had our fist photo session with this great lady.

Sunny Spring days met us working hard in the studio on new pictures of the white wash collection. 

Facebook fans reached 1000 and we introduces quirky little S swing and XO game.

The studio became a great place to work from ...and we also ship our products around the World. 

In September faced with still growing demand for our beds we doubled the production. 

After a great Summer break, with new energy, we photographed ourselves the dark chocolate beds. 

It is such a fun to prepare the styling, ideas and shoot it all in our own studio.

In November Rafa-kids got ready for the cold winter days 

bringing beautiful WOOL blankets from Scandinavia to our collection.

We look back and see that we worked very hard to be where we are now. 

We are also  very happy to have chance to meet on our way such a great people who inspire us and help to go further. 

We would like to thank this years especially: 

 Paulina Arcklin for inspiration, support and opening our eyes for so many things. 

You are such a talented lady, and we are so lucky to work with you.

Anouk Bedeaux/ from Tafel design for support , interest and being always next door! 

It's great to have you around and we hope, we will make more things together in the future.
