I think this could have been a perfect place to spend the Holiday time for me ;-) with a big plus of discovering a great design all around! I came across this place studying the Moormann Style a bit. Furniture producer Nils Holger Moormann bought a plot of land near his headquarters to build a new warehouse…it finished totally different than it was planed! It is a guest house with 16 completely different apartments. They are all made in Moormann custom-made pieces of furniture and mix with design classics. I think the effect is fabulous. The simplicity of furniture, all kept in wood and black colors, give this space such a quiet and calm look. I'm putting this place on my " wish to see" lists.

Kids have so much STUFF! 

Creating a good storage is one of the most challenging things to do in their room, I think! I've selected this very strong and simple, built-in storage solutions. I't clean, consequent and very practical. I like to mix a bit close cupboards with open ones, for exposing some toys, and make it a bit more friendly. All white wall , close with storage, its a bit to much for my taste.  I like the first solution the best, with moving boxes with toys, and white cupboards above it and shelfs in between. There is some space to hang drawings, and maybe give more personal touch to this modern space.

XO game by Rafa-kids

Please say hello to our new simple XO game, which we've just added to Rafa-kids collection! 

During the summer we had a photo session of our F&A beds, and this idea of making XO game came to us. 

It took us a while to actually create a new product out of it, but today there it is.

It's a simple set of 5 crosses + 5 circles made out of thick felt, 

a roll of masking tape and a yellow bag to store it all. 

We can play with it endlessly. XO GAME

dressing the boys - mini and maximus

My older boy got one of this cool mini and maximus sweaters for St. Nicolas. 

He looked at me surprised and asked  - Black mom ?  oh no!  I'm a mom of two boys and there is no fashion lover out here, believe me. The only thing which at least interests my boys a bit, is a color of their garments and if you can take take it off easily! For my older F - it has to be Orange, for the younger one R - the best Green or Yellow. I got him this great yellow Beauloves long sleeved tee, and since few days I try to convince him, to wear it! He desn't want to. Can you believe ? Anyway mini and maximus is a fantastic brand, which is obsessed with art, and their goal is to involve a variety of artists into submission program to share the creativity with the world. They are working with established and up-and coming artists, and use children's drawing sometimes. Look at great collaboration with Mika. The effect is fabulous.

Yes, we are in Finland! 

It's a graphic world of Kanelikaupassa . I have total crash on this black and white tape, and I think this is the way our presents are going to look this year! I wish to have time to be so creative and do all things by myself with my kids…well!  I will be happy to support the creative, individual designers, who make so many beautiful products around Christmas this time ;)  Kanelikaupan, doesn't have any online store, so please just send her an e-mail with your request : kanelimaa@gmail.com  There is so many beautiful product to discover…birds, squirrels, clouds and mushrooms, all of them live out there….

In this time of year, we are looking for little presents for our children. At least I do ;-)  My boys, are very much into lego (7 years old) and he exactly knows what he wants to get, which makes life easier, but at the same time a bit less exited for me. My younger one (3 years) likes lego too, especially aircrafts and he already tries to build his own ones, which is very nice!  Animals are also a big interest at the moment, especially dinos. Nothing very much different from other boys I guess…..I went to the city the other day, and after 1h, I got so tired of all what I saw….the amount of ugly products for kids… I ran home, and got back to my online world. It's good to know that there is so many original, simple toys, all around the world, made by creative, talented people. 

Milimbo is one of my favorites. I don't know what I like the most about it. The simple shapes and sober colors of a cartoon, the playfulness at the same time….I'm afraid I can only get them now, to put on my desk and enjoy to look at. I somehow missed the moment to introduce them to my kids….

or maybe it's not to late?

Do you know swiss miss already? 

Its Tina Roth Eisenberg's blog, run from NY since 2005. It's her personal and visual journal 

dedicated to design, with an average of 1 million unique visitors a month (!)  I watched few lectures of her and I'm always very inspired and motivated afterwards. She has so many interesting ideas and concepts, and one of them was opening the tattly. After her daughter was coming home with some bed looking tattoos she decided to invite artists from all over the word, to make designs for tattly. It is a big success! You will find modern minimal designs and a funny colorful tattoos for kids. I think Tina is doing amazing work, and if you look for inspiration how to live a dream….keep an eye on her! 

favorite blog - AMM

I like minimal spaces, clean, well organized, with a lot of white…it gives me a lot of rest. So many times I have to give up on it, because of my two little monsters running around, and having totally different idea of using the space ;-) and things having at home. Do you know the feeling, when you just paint a white wall, and in a few days you will see this nice fatty hand prints on the wall? 

When I watch Jennifer Taylor Hagler blog AMM, 

I always wonder how she makes it all so beautiful. It makes me try better and believe in own style and not giving up!
