COS beauty in simplicity

When I read this article at : Independent magazine about Cos, I decided it was really time to see the shop in real. Since we have one in Rotterdam it wasn't that difficult. Their concept appeals to me so much. I'm into minimalism in life at the moment, and wish to reduce things around me at home and also in my garments. Their clothes are of great quality for a reasonable price.

COS say them self :  "To play with volume and proportion, rather than follow fashion trends. We have always hoped to create styles that last beyond the season."
Yes, I really appreciate it, and I see that their style is inspired by architecture, graphics, design and arts. The shop itself, looks so stylish and minimal too, all the staff wears black, and they pack your clothes beautifully, a real pleasure to step by. You can find them in R-dam at : Karel Doormanstraat 278.

The COS website is beautiful too, and don't miss the section THINGS
with minimalist products and architecture - so inspiring.

Bonbon on the block ❤ Dads

BonBon on the block is a Kid's Concept Store, run by Marieke and Lenny in Rotterdam. Few days ago they presented their brand new campaign BonBon on the block loves dads - and I think its amazing!  After 3 years of running the shop the ladies were hungry for some change and searched for a way to show their collection.  Six homes, six dads who were portrayed by photographer Jan Bill. The kids were dressed by her stylish fathers, using all the clothes and accessories collection from BonBon on the block. The images are just wonderfully playful and natural, made with a great sense of humor an stylish atmosphere.  BonBon on the block is a shop with a great eye for trends and I think they just brought their shop into the next level! Well done!

Enjoy the great look book of BonBon on the block Dads
and of course step by the shop : BonBon on the block.

Bodie and Fou - inspiring concept store

I have to admit it was not love at first sight when I discovered the Bodie and Fou elegant and chic e-shop few years ago. Step by step, I was watching the big passion and commitment of founder Karine Kong and felt involved and inspired by her way of working. Karine , has not only a great taste and eye for good, well designed products. She adopts them in her home and studio. Together with her brother photographer, Francois Kong, she is bringing ideas for styling the products with her very own style and touch. The real magic happens when we can see the personal taste behind the shop and want desperately to change our own home for better place to live. I think Karine is doing this in a beautiful way. Thank you for that!

Letter poster

I have a weakness for typography since art school time. I had a fantastic teacher showing us with big passion the beauty of letters. The challenges were to make our own alphabet or draw letters with wooden stick and ink! When I discovered play type store, It was love from the first sight. I think I could work there ;-) The website is a typographer heaven and the posters are so fantastic…only the shipping price is not so nice ;-/ I wish to have the big letter poster for our Rafa-kids new studio. They display window is looking fantastic too.

"…Playtype a foundry and online font shop was created by brand&design agency e-Types, as a showcase of more than 20 years of type design - from commissioned works to font created out of passion… "

Here you can read more about Jonas Hecksher, Jens Kajus and Henrik Kubel all the Font Designers

Favorite shop - Orphansocks

design: Sergio Dias /made in: Portugal

What would happen when an architect would open a shop with products for home? A place with pure and simple design objects? Yes - it just happens! Eva van Dongen studied architecture at the university in Delft. She is the designer and owner of shop Orphansocks which is fresh and just open for you to have a look. She selected really special things mostly from other designers.  I really like All Lovely Stuff company,  they make me smile. And a wooden toys of Sergio Dias made in Portugal looking like really inspiring toys for small ones.
Eva keeps her shop in a simple and vibrant atmosphere and thats what I like best.
