In this rainy and grey day we need some beautiful treat for the eyes. Right ?

Do I need more to convince you ?

working at home - K DESK in black

Black K desk and X stool by Rafa-kids photo Paulina Arcklin

About 20 years ago, I was enjoying my high school time without IPhone, IPad and not even an internet connection….I remember how shocking was to read  Alvin Toffler “ The Third Wave “ book . He was writhing about next generation and how people will work more and more from home, in their own environment. Now it doesn’t even feel so exiting or special. We can connect with whole world via our laptops….. and the line between work and living environment is sometimes very blurry.

Do you like this working space created at home of a stylist/photographer Paulina Arcklin
Many months ago I was showing Paulina a little model of Rafa-kids’ K desk and her first reaction was, that’s this furniture is not only for kids. I could not agreed more! Since then I hoped she could make pictures of our K desk and see it through her own eyes. Rafa-kids’ sophisticated simplicity design and a touch of cosy scandinavian vibe for the coming winter.

whats your favourite colour ?

studio oink for papier mache
studio oink for papier mache

Do you remember my post about Studio Oink ? Well, I think we should keep an eye on them, since they bring more and more original and creative work out there. This time they are part of the current papier mache issue N° 08. They did a full editorial production for it, with a theme  "whats your favourite colour".

“ … Studio Oink with Frida, Elias and Katharina sing out loud their favourite colours  “My lovely lovely lilac flower, come to me and be my friend. I will take good care of you, the whole time to all eternity. “ (Frida)

I’m not a pastel person or soft tones one, but the first photo it’s really my favourite from all editorial made by studio oink . The richness of different textures, kept in one tone I found simply beautiful.

 What 3 words best describe the colour ? Loveliness, warmth, youth.
What lovely things are the same colour ? Fluffy bedlinen, Balloons, Perfume.

Have a wonderful weekend!

photography Frederic Lucano

photography Frederic Lucano

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday evening and the week is almost gone. It was very busy weekend for our family, since we celebrated birthday of our older son. We had a wonderful party on Sunday with teen boys age 8! We made it outside, the weather was wonderful…and our boy was very happy. I didn’t have much time to blog since then…so today just some treat for the eyes. Beautiful photography from Frederic Lucano. I like his minimal style, but with the touch of French textures and colours, looks so romantic and contemporary at the same time.

living with children - vtwonen / DIY

living with children - vtwonen / DIY
 1/ floating desk, which is made from a simple board supported by boxes underneath it.
Space safer!

 2/ big and small rooms of kids always need a great storage,
do it properly and big! not to wide but high closet with many drawers to hide all the treasuries;

Dutch magazine VTwonen latest issue is dedicated to kids.
Yes! I was so exited to get this weekend the July issue. I miss so badly this subject in most of the interior magazines. It looks like children's rooms, can't be stylish , modern and fit to their parents' houses. Why not ?
Anyway, the first part of the photos I would like to show you are made by stylist Fietje Bruijn and photograph by Dennis Brandsma. No sweet pink for a girl, no blue for a boy, but unisex , dark, lightly mysterious and pretty cool 'camera obscura' . With the idea that all the eye-catchers you can do yourself!
Let's go!

The lamp is made in 15 minutes - just a basket turned upside down with light fitting!

4/ can you see how the little desk was made? It is a simple shelf suspended on a rope.
And what about painting the wall and the furniture in similar colors, to create a calm atmosphere;

I got so exited when I saw that Rikka from Weekdaycarnival & Emma from Emmasdesign
were asked by Ferm Living company to make pictures with products from their new collection.

Rikka is living in Helsinki, Emma in Stockolm and Ferm Living is based in Copenhagen! Why they would like to mix all of this? Well, because the two ladies are one of the leading design bloggers .  I'm such a big fan of Rikka style and her blog is on my list forever…it was really a wow effect when I saw those pictures, and don't know why it took me so long to show it here. What I like most about them? Of course the geometric , minimal style, but at the same time very playful look. I'm sure they had such a fun making it!

Ferm Living even made whole new catalogue with the inspiring pictures the ladies made… Enjoy!

Last week I received the very first issue of LILLENORD, a brand new and beautiful magazine representing urban nordic family lifestyle.
Since I am always on look out for kids' interiors, I was happy to see something different than black&white Scandinavian style! The first print issue is full of inspiring Kids' fashion, Home decoration, DIY, recipes and lots more.
The "Room Service" editorial pages, photographed by Monica Bach are my favorite, with a minimal touch and products from Lucky Boy Sunday and Ferm Living. Two scandinavian brands Lille Nord love and support, the other on their list are:  Hay, Normann Copenhagen, We Do Wood, Marimekko, Fine Little Day, Polkka Jam, Flexa, Garbo&Friends. In this issue I stopped by interesting interview with Lisa Stroander, Johanna Magoria, which are pinpointed by Lille Nord as the future of Scandinavian design.

Thank you Lillenord for the press materials and such a inspiring magazine!
