Contemporary toddler bedroom
It was a nice surprise to come across this modern room and spot our Rafa-kids XL shelf in it. Each time I see it in people homes I feel excited and inspired by the creativity and the personal touch. There are so many ways to use XL shelf around children’s room. This toddler bedroom belongs to a little boy called Thomas and was created by Terina Lyell from Oheightohnine. His parents asked an interior designer for a transformation of his room into a 'big boy' space. I like the contemporary look of the room with not so many elements. Sleeping corner with a toddler bed, a large shelf for books and toys, sitting corner and plenty of space to play. The color pallet is very calm with the dominant furniture in natural wood and white and a splash of dark blue here and there. If you would like to see how the room was looking before and read more about the project, you can step by Terina's blog here.
I wish you a nice new week!

Gender Neutral Children's rooms trend
Could you imagine the room of your child in a calm and neutral atmosphere, or you find it to much and a bit boring? The gender neutral children rooms are at the moment very popular, and I like it a lot. The other day, my six years old son was drawing something, and when I asked why he doesn’t use the pink color- he looked at me with this strange look, and said - “ mom - pink is for girls! “ I was angry, as this was definitely told to him by someone at school, and I’m far from accepting it.
Anyway, today we are escaping from colours in children’s rooms, and any generalisations what is for boys, and what for girls. Let’s enjoy these beautiful natural textures of wood, linen, cotton. I found this editorial on Zara Home and was positively surprised. Contemporary, with modern elements, kept humble and fresh. I wish to see such an inspiring children rooms more often!

Monday inspiration - Toddler Friendly Closet Ideas
Do your toddlers like to choose their clothes?
or at least like the idea that they are able to take things from their closet and maybe put it back ?
Well, I think it’s nice to stimulate independence in our children. It is not only handy for parents ( as we can have more time to dress ourself ) but it also makes our little ones very happy and absolutely proud, that they are able to dress themselves.
I found plenty of good ideas how to create a children friendly closet. Very important thing to start with - the hight! It will be good if all the garments are at their fingertips. In my opinion, half open and half closed closet is a perfect option. We can hide things which are not as much interesting to look at ( pyjamas, underwear , socks etc ) and expose or hang the favourite pieces. Good segregation of garments which could be named and labeled is an another step to success. We can put stickers on the drawers or on little boxes to help our toddler to find important parts of his/her wardrobe. Currently very popular option is to create open hangers on different sort of rails ( wooden twig ) . I can only imagine ( as a mom of boys) that girls would love to expose their favourite little dresses and accessories. Wall hooks are also a very nice decorative elements to use.
Do you have any more nice suggestions ?

NEW Rafa-kids A teen BED
Finally we are ready to show you Rafa-kids NEW A teen bed!
Following so many requests from our customers to make our classic A teen bed in bigger sizes, we are so happy to introduce A90 and A120 beds. The new sizes are respectively: 200x90cm and 200x120cm wide.
We created this playful boys space, to show you how nice it is to have a bed in the middle of the room. It’s simple and elegant design makes the biggest piece of furniture in a bedroom almost disappear. The bed is very low, so visually doesn’t take much space and you will have so much pleasure to decorated it. Pillows and plaids, favourite cuddles and personal belongings will definitly take a first place in the room. Since the bed doesn’t have any headboard, it also makes it very flexible to position in a room.
I can only say- Let’s play with it!

Danish minimalism
It is not a secret that the Danish has a deep tradition in designing amazing furniture pieces.
They cary some of the best classic design furniture for kids too. You can discover the Juno bed here , which is one of the best furniture for the little ones since a long time. It never goes out of style.
I’m showing you today two Danish companies carrying kids’ furniture : Leander and Oliverfurniture. I think they are taking a new wave in development. I talked about Oliverfurniture in 2013 here, and this brand was looking to me very tradition then, so it is nice to see that they are bringing the company into the new modern stage.
Leander refreshes its brand with new furniture line called Linea. The new collection includes essentials for a baby: cradle, changing table and a dresser. I personally really like the transformed version of the the cot for toddler into a sofa. All the pictures are very minimal and modern, which is very refreshing. What do you think about all this colour possibilities to use in children’s rooms? They are absolutely beautiful and I would like to try some of them in our Rafa-kids stylings.

HM kids home - Animal Encounter
H&M Home collection offers for the upcoming season a lot of botanical prints, earth tones and reach textures. Kids’ deco line is also inspired by this trendy look. Green is such a great colour to use in children’s rooms, remember my post about it here : inspiration-green-wall ? It’s calm, cosy and matches so well with natural materials like wood, cork and bamboo. Of course we can’t forget the plants!
My favourite product from H&M new collection for children is the simple bedding set with animals and the storage basket with animals print. H&M seems to understand, that the storage is an important issue in children’s rooms, and we can find much more simple options to choose from. I really like this fresh atmosphere created on these pictures.
Can’t wait for Spring to come!
