I’m moving! 

Yes, after 7 years of blogging over here I found my new spot on Rafa-kids New Website.

It was not an easy decision, as I can't take with me all the posts I have created during these years. If I look back at the work and passion I put into it I think it would be great to print it as a book about design world for children.

I will unpack my things and create a new cozy and fresh place over at Rafa-kids website. You can expect to see there few of your favorite blog posts, so you can still feel familiar.  It's somehow a new start for me.  I will do my best to continue this creative and inspiring Blog.

Contemporary toddler bedroom

It was a nice surprise to come across this modern room and spot our Rafa-kids XL shelf in it. Each time I see it in people homes I feel excited and inspired by the creativity and the personal touch. There are so many ways to use XL shelf around children’s room. This toddler bedroom belongs to a little boy called Thomas and was created by Terina Lyell from Oheightohnine. His parents asked an interior designer for a transformation of his room into a 'big boy' space. I like the contemporary look of the room with not so many elements. Sleeping corner with a toddler bed, a large shelf for books and toys, sitting corner and plenty of space to play. The color pallet is very calm with the dominant furniture in natural wood and white and a splash of dark blue here and there.  If you would like to see how the room was looking before and read more about the project, you can step by Terina's blog here.

Today I have for you a great storage idea with Rafa-kids XL shelf . What do you do with all the cuddly Forever Friends who belong to your child? Our ten years old Frank has such a big collection of cuddles that they hardly fit in his bed! And that’s not the end, as he likes to buy or get from time to time some new ones. The other day I thought that our XL shelf could be a perfect storage idea for it. Your child can see all of the favorite cuddles and then take the ones he/she would like to play or sleep with. You win two things - a beautiful decoration in a child’s room and good way to storage them…Of course, the shelf is suitable for displaying any other collection of your child. What could it be? lego, little dinosaurs, books, drawings …

Minimal Rafa Bedroom

It’s been three weeks since our return from holidays already, but we seem to run still a bit slower. I don’t rush the busy working days to come back into my life. Do you cherish your hours of sleep? I noticed since the trip, how proper amount of sleep, affects my mood and how I feel during the day. 

Maybe that is why our first Rafa-kids photo shoot needed to be about comfort and simplicity in a bedroom. I love this large A teen bed in white. Can you imagine the same bed used for your child's early years, and then just restyled for a teenager?

The A120 bed looks so light and minimal because the legs are designed a bit away from the front line, and that creates this contemporary effect. I wanted to keep everything very minimal so you can see how beautiful this bed is. Together with the Rafa-kids S shelf and  B bench, it is such a complete look. I hope you like this calm and elegant atmosphere, as much as we do.

Let's Play with Monsters

How does the room of 6 years old look like? My son Robert, who is this age dreams about a 'BIG  BOYS' bed, as he still sleeps in his R toddler bed. He shares a room with his brother, so putting 2 F bunk beds in this space, is simply impossible. We are still in a hunt for a bigger house to make his dreams come true. 

He likes to spend time to draw, to make little notes to us, as he started to learn writing and reading, which is very fascinating! Of course he loves to Play. What about drums?  Or pillow fight, especially when they are so cool in the shape of Monsters…he is very active and he is everywhere. 

In our studio he found his perfect spot under the F bunk bed, where we put the B bench. Do you like it? We designed this bench, to fit between the ladders, and are so happy to see how great it is working  'in action'.  The space under the F bunk bed looks now so defined and different. 

And we made a MOVIE!  

We are absolutely hooked to this new tool, and hope you will like it as much as Rafa do.

Rafa L shelf in Louis' Nursery

I’m so exited to show you today a beautiful nursery room. I hope you remember my blog post : Eastons nursery with Rafa kids L shelf, where I was sharing for the first time, a baby room decorated with Rafa-kids design. 

Well, today we have another project worth a look!  Angela, inspiring mom, living in Adelaide, South Australia, created this stunning space for her little boy Louis.  He is almost 17 months. As Angela calls this room  “ Scandi Nursery “ we know for sure where from she took her inspiration. I honestly have never seen so many cool wooden toys in one room!   I’m very pleased to see, that more and more parens are conscious to pick sustainable, long lasting toys, for they children. I know how difficult it could be, to say no to colourful, plastic kids world.  As you can see, it is possible….

MOVIE time with Rafa

Since I remember we wanted to create Rafa-kids movies.

It is such a great way to show how beautiful and playful our furniture is in real. Each time we build a set for new pictures in our studio, we just wish to keep it for as long as possible, or invite people over to show it. Many of you live far away, so we needed to do it in a different way. 

Today I’m so exited to invite you to our studio and feel the atmosphere 
of “ Splash of Yellow “ 
Cosy , soft toddler room which we created in collaboration with Danish brand Fabelab. 

I hope you can see how much we care for each details not only of our furniture, 
but all the accessories we use in this set. Let’s bring a sunny and positive vibe.

Rafa-kids & Fabelab

There were boxes of beautiful stuff arriving from Copenhagen to our studio last week. We teamed up with Danish brand Fabelab and received their gorgeous textiles, cuddly toys and tipi tent. We love to collaborate with other creative brands, so setting up this toddler room was for us such a treat . Beautiful shades of grey, soft pink and reach textures of felt baskets from our collection are the main theme of this latest Rafa-kids inspirational photoshoot. We would not be ourself without adding a splash of yellow into this Scandinavian calmness! 

We selected All White furniture of Rafa-kids, to give a great base to play around with these Scandinavian accessories. You know how much I like baskets! Remember this blog post ? Well, I think they are such a great way to store kids’s toys. The tipi tent gives such a dreamy atmosphere to this space. I think we will keep this set in our studio for some longer time....
