Rafa-kids future studio and showroom.

This year will be very special for Rafa-kids, because we will open our own STUDIO and SHOWROOM. 

We grabbed a chance to rent a spot in Hofbogen. This old structure is "the longest building in Holland" giving home to many creative people. It has this great industrial atmosphere with big windows and concrete floor. We got the keys in December but we are just starting the rebuilding and preparation to open the doors in Spring. That's why there is a ladder in this post ;-) I will pain a lot the coming weeks and clean, after the boys will finish to demolish the walls…. I just can't stop looking for the inspiration of studios/show rooms, mostly very simple  - all the pictures are from my pinterest page.  1/ 2/  3/ 

Bunk bed in a winter mood….

I like small furniture models! They remind me of my student times when I was building architectural models all the time. Now we have our Rafa-kids furniture in a small scale. What do you think about this warm, soft blanket on our F bunk bed ?  ;) Isn't it looking gorges together with the color of birch wood? I like to play with it so much ;)

Leaving for Lodz Design Festival 2012

Tomorrow we are leaving to Poland, Lodz. The school's Autumn Holiday will start. 

We are so happy that the Lodz Design Festival is exactly during this time, so we can have a small holiday break. On Thursday night there is an official ceremony of the MUST HAVE awards. I will tell you all when we are back…. I'm so excited.  I will be back in 10 days.  All the best from me. Agata 

Scandinaviandeco with Rafa-kids beds

Few days ago I got a package from Finland. When I saw this beautiful colorful collage with Rafa-kids beds inside Scandinaviandeco I just couldn't stop smiling all day long. We are so happy and honored to be part of it. I scan for you few pages with great teenager's rooms. I really like the round hanger and simplicity of the girl's room. The dark proposal is for boys, but how simple and timeless this room is. I hope you like them as much as I do.

Rafa-kids at Inside Design Amsterdam

It was a very busy weekend for us at design fair IDA in Amsterdam. I'm so glad we could be part of such an event and had the opportunity to meet other designers and see their great work in real. Our Rafa-kids beds worked great in our sunny room.  We made two swings from the wheels of our R toddler bed and hang them on a metal rack. We used it also to show the bedding collection. The swings got a lot of fans! I think there will be new product coming to Rafa-kids collection ;-) We received many positive comments and complements, and meet many, many people…

Tomorrow we will start to prepare room on the Ijburg for the Inside Design Amsterdam.

Rafa-kids packing and sending

Last week was really special for us. We send our first pre-order beds. Rafa-kids yellow tape is making the simple boxes so nice ! We really like it. The F bunk bed is now IN STOCK. The R toddler has few elements which have to be remade by the factory, so we still keep waiting for it. Fingers crossed to get them this week!

Preparing for the Inside Design Amsterdam

Only 2 weeks left for the INSIDE DESIGN Amsterdam, where we will present for the first time our beds. It is a new challenge. Happily we don't have to fight with my husband about what we find interesting and good. We both want a dreamy and relaxed place with a graphic touch. 

So keep watching, what kind of surprises we are preparing for you ;-) I will keep you posted…..

Blue is also giving me felling of distance and freedom. 

Mountain Blurbird was an inspiration for a colors and atmosphere in a teen's room:

Our own Rafa-kids World map

We are still waiting for the arrival of Rafa-kids beds from the factory and struggling with problems which are out of our control. We are receiving pre-orders, which make us happy but also more and more responsible for our small customers waiting for the beds . We will finally ship our first orders to France, Switzerland, England and Finland …next week. To celebrate that we made a map where we are going to put yellow pins - 

our Rafa-kids touch to say: Hello world!

Industrial style with black colors is always getting my attention. 

Special finds: furniture, posters, factory accessories, 

are all great elements to make a stylish boy's room. 

If you find it a bit to strong with all the dark elements 

then natural wood furniture, boxes and orange tones of textile, will add good touch to it.
